24/10/2011 · I found this link looking for the benefit of RAID 10 vs. RAID 01, but using FOUR drives in total. With all things being equal, in a four-drive (2 pairs) array, RAID 01 & 10 should be equal. I’m running an older 3ware controller, and I’ve learned never to trust luck.

RAID 01 RAID 10 provides better fault resilience and “rebuild” performance than RAID 01. Both array types provide very good to excellent overall performance by combining the speed of RAID 0 with the redundancy of RAID 1 without requiring parity calculations.
